The midi mapping inside EZP is set to EZD.Īny idea what might be wrong? I have looked everywhere for guidance without being able to find any relevant information. I was entertaining the idea of using Superior Drummer to get better sounds. The standard voices that come with the TD11k leave a little bit to be desired. I recently got them to play at my church live every week. Also, I can drag midi files from within EZP onto the EZP track in Ableton and then it actually works, BUT, it does not work when I am trying to preview midi files from within EZP itself. I'm a new member to the electric drums club. However, I do not understand exactly what you mean when you say that you "select the input on track 3 as being from 2-Ez Player in the first input box AND the "Ez Player" on the second input box"? I do not see such an option for the second input box, I only have Pre FX or Post FX as options? My EZD track is record armed so it is not that. I have also read your post below and am trying to do the same setup.
I have tried to set up the routing according to the EZP user manual but nothing happens. There is no midi signal going out of EZPlayer to trigger my drum sampler (I am using EZDrummer (not Superior) but it should work similar). For some reason I cannot get it to work at all. You write in your post that you have been able to get EZPlayer to work fine with Superior Drummer running in Ableton Live (v 8.2.2). However, I was hoping I could get some help from you instead.
Unfortunately, I am totally new to EZPlayer Pro (just bought it today) and I will not be able to help you. I realize it's been quite a while since you posted your last question. I've googled this problem and found nothing at all - so can anyone help with this?
It appears you can set up a midi track to only receive certain midi channels when using an external source - but I cannot find how to do it for an internal source. When setting the midi input for SD I cannot see how to only receive data from a certain midi channel - I can only set it to receive all midi data or none at all. This can be done on EZP by selecting different midi channels for the snare and kick - but I cannot get it to work on Ableton. EG if I created another midi track (say track 4) with Battery 3, I was then trying to send the EZP kick drums to SD (on track 3) and the snares to Battery (on track 4). However, I'm struggling to use the EZP feature which sends different drums to different midi tracks. This means that the output of EZ Player is fed to Superior Drummer and the sounds work from SD no problem.
I would then select the midi input on track 3 as being from 2-Ez Player in the first input box and the "Ez Player" on the second input box. I can get EZ player pro to work easily enough (by putting it on a midi track, say track 2), then putting Superior Drummer on a separate midi track (say track 3). Essentially I'm looking so set up a midi track which only receives midi data from a certain midi channel on another Ableton track as discussed below. I have a question relating to the midi routing on Ableton when using Toontrack's EZ Player pro.
